Why does he think that the American people want this but the politicians don’t?

“Americans are waiting for the administration to lead, Obama said in remarks at the White House backing a muscle tactic known as “reconciliation” as a way of overcoming rock-solid Republican opposition.”

Translation: “American’s are waiting for me to be the boss of them. But American’s are standing in the way of me being the boss of them.” He is simply trying to wear people down. This is stupid. His ideas are dangerous, and he knows it full well.

“Now is the time to make a decision about how to finally reform health care so that it works, not just for the insurance companies, but for America’s families and businesses,” Obama said in his speech.

Here’s a thought… Get rid of half the regulations in place that tie insurance companies down and let the market work.

White House spokesman Robert Gibbs said Obama will push hard. “Whatever it takes to get healthcare done,” he said. Obama is due to travel to Philadelphia and St. Louis next week to make his case for the overhaul.

Gibbs has a mental disorder of some kind. But he is correct and being honest here. Obama will do whatever it takes. Even if it means, (and it does) pretending the constitution doesn’t exist and pretending everyone in America wants this except for bleeding hearts who don’t believe or understand the reality of the numbers and the elite who want more control and power.

But reconciliation cannot be used to change a Senate provision that weakened language banning the use of federal funds for abortion, and as a result Democratic Representative Bart Stupak said he will vote against the bill — and he says as many as a dozen other Democrats might too.

The sad part is, if they made this issue very clear and banned the use of federal funds for abortion, the rest of this garbage would probably pass!

“No matter which approach you favor, I believe the United States Congress owes the American people a final vote on health care reform,” he said.

I agree with you here. In fact, I think we have had several final votes now that DIDN’T PASS!

With polls providing a mixed picture of their attitudes, the president made clear he was willing to let voters decide in November whether healthcare should be approved or not.

It will be interesting to see if he keeps his promise on this one. Maybe he will put it all on C-SPAN too. He thinks we are all so stupid. All liberals think anyone who isn’t a liberal is just too stupid to know they should be a liberal. Most are just a bunch of asses. The mascot has always made perfect sense to me.

Is this even worth talking about? I think we’ve already determined that this is a retarded contest that lost it’s true meaning a long long time ago.

Got an argument for why the savior of hope and change deserves this? I know the dems are in meetings all over the world spinning his nothingness even now to tell the world why he deserves this.

Acknowledging that he was “surprised and deeply humbled” by the news that he had won the Nobel Peace Prize, President Barack Obama today urged the international community to work together on addressing the challenges of the 21st century.

“To be honest, I do not feel that I deserve to be in the company of so many of the transformative figures who’ve been honored by this prize,” Obama said in brief remarks at the White House. “I do not view it as a recognition of my own accomplishments but rather as an affirmation of American leadership on behalf of aspirations held by people in all nations.”

Thank heaven he has decided to be honest for once. His honesty didn’t keep him from accepting the “award” however. And are you going to split the 1.4 million bones with American leadership on behalf of aspirations held by people in all nations? uh, no.

The president said the prize has been used as a means to provide momentum, but that no one person or one administration alone can solve all the problems.

“All nations must take responsibility for the world we seek,” the president said. “We cannot tolerate a world in which nuclear weapons spread to more nations. … We cannot accept the growing threat posed by climate change, which could forever danger the world we pass on to our children. … We cannot allow the differences between people to allow the way we see one another.”

Blah blah blah blah, (touching on things that the peace prize somehow stands for.)

Stressing the work he has done as commander-in-chief in pulling back forces from Iraq, Obama said that “some of the work confronting us will not be completed during our presidency” and that some work “may not be completed during my lifetime.” But he added that he was hopeful the challenges will be met.

Actually he said something about how he ended the war not pulling back forces from Iraq. Can you say, Mission Accomplished? It was very odd.

“This award is not simply about the efforts of my administration, it’s about the courageous efforts of people around the world,” he said.

Again, 1.4 million doesnt go very far so he may as well just keep it, huh?  Actually, I heard a report he will give it to charity. No word on what charity it is.

Obama, only the third sitting U.S. president to win the prestigious award, will travel to Oslo in December to accept the prize in person.

The news that Obama was awarded the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize came as a surprise even to the White House. Press aides said they had heard from news reports weeks ago that the president was nominated for a Nobel Peace Prize but they do not believe Obama himself knew of his nomination.

The deadline for nominations is Feb. 1, meaning the president was nominated after being in office for just 11 days.

He was nominated late. There is no other explanation. When you think the peace prize couldn’t be any more worthless than last year, they go and top it.

Geir Lundestad, director of the Norwegian Nobel Institute, told “Good Morning America” the decision to pick Obama was unanimous.

“President Obama has changed very dramatically international politics,” Lundestad told “GMA’s” Diane Sawyer today. “We feel he has emphasized multilateral diplomacy, he has addressed international institutions, dialogue negotiations. He has inspired the world with his vision of a world without nuclear arms. He has changed the U.S. policy dramatically. There’s a whole list.”

In 11 days??? Idiots. seriously.

The Nobel Peace Prize for 2009

The Norwegian Nobel Committee has decided that the Nobel Peace Prize for 2009 is to be awarded to President Barack Obama for his extraordinary efforts to strengthen international diplomacy and cooperation between peoples. The Committee has attached special importance to Obama’s vision of and work for a world without nuclear weapons.

Obama has as President created a new climate in international politics. Multilateral diplomacy has regained a central position, with emphasis on the role that the United Nations and other international institutions can play. Dialogue and negotiations are preferred as instruments for resolving even the most difficult international conflicts. The vision of a world free from nuclear arms has powerfully stimulated disarmament and arms control negotiations. Thanks to Obama’s initiative, the USA is now playing a more constructive role in meeting the great climatic challenges the world is confronting. Democracy and human rights are to be strengthened.

Only very rarely has a person to the same extent as Obama captured the world’s attention and given its people hope for a better future. His diplomacy is founded in the concept that those who are to lead the world must do so on the basis of values and attitudes that are shared by the majority of the world’s population.

For 108 years, the Norwegian Nobel Committee has sought to stimulate precisely that international policy and those attitudes for which Obama is now the world’s leading spokesman. The Committee endorses Obama’s appeal that “Now is the time for all of us to take our share of responsibility for a global response to global challenges.”
